Dr. Chris Bays and his wife, Janelle, a dental hygienist both received their dental degrees from the University of Minnesota and are proud San Antonio residents. Outside of work, he is an avid offshore fisherman.
Dr. Gomez attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2015. Her greatest joy is getting to know her patients at a personal level.

I was told by another dentist from another office that I would need a crown for an asymptomatic broken tooth. Trusting that dentist I started the procedure. The temporary crown that was placed came off 4 times in the 1st week I had it. Now my tooth is killing me! After 4 botched attempts to put on a temporary crown I went to My Hometown Dentist. Dr. Gomez did some work and replaced the temporary crown which has remained in place since it was installed and my tooth is not hurting any longer!

They are the best I have ever been to. Love the staff and the wonderful care they take of you. I have been scared of the dentist all my life due to bad experience when I was a child. They put your fears at ease and I do not get scared or stressed when I know I have an appointment. They listen and show that they care about you. Went in for a cleaning appointment but changed it to a molar extraction. The dentist was very calming, kind and calming. Thank you.

I always have a great experience when visiting this office. Every hygienist has been gentle and thorough. Dr Gomez is kind and explains everything she is doing and everything she is watching develop with my teeth. They even take the time to send x-rays etc to my dentist son in Alaska and confer with him when needed. I highly recommend!

To be honest, I was a little scared at first since it was my first visit, but everyone was so nice! The doctor and hygienist were detail-oriented and great. They helped remove all my stains and did a thorough check.

I had a fantastic experience at the dentist. The hygienist was so gentle and did a great job cleaning my teeth. X-rays, which often hurt me because of the shape of my mouth were pain-free. The dentist also did an outstanding job. All in all a great experience!

Dr Gonzalez was awesome. She didn’t rush through things or push me any direction for a plan other than the way I was comfortable. The Leon springs staff was awesome. The front desk girls were kind and professional. I was nervous about the dental work I need but Dr Gonzalez simplifies things and the hygienist did the same thing. They all work well together.

My husband, kids, and I have all recently started using My Hometown Dentist. My husband needed extensive dental work and initially came here for a second opinion- they did the work needed for half the price of the original dentist and did a good job. The hygienists and Dr. Gomez have done a great job with my kids’ dental work and I’ve been happy with mine too. Overall this has been a great dentist for our family.
