I love coming into the practice because it’s got a hometown feel. You can sit down. You can read a magazine. You can have coffee, and everybody makes you feel like family. The quality in care we’ve received since I started coming here has been excellent. It’s been outstanding. You come in. I feel no pain.
Everybody makes you feel, like, at ease. They comfort you. You know, sometimes, you come in, you come embarrassed. You’re like, “Man, they’re gonna judge me.” And they say, “Hey, you know, it happens to everybody. Just get it done. Let’s get it fixed.” When they work on me, I don’t feel a thing. I mean, they make sure I don’t feel anything with the right pain medication, and they get to work, and we’re in and out, and it’s that simple.
You wanna go where you feel comfortable. You wanna go where you feel safe. You wanna go where they’re your neighbor, and being in a small town, Pleasanton, Texas, you get to know everybody in the community, and they’ll look after you. You know, they just wanna look after you, and it’s a great feeling when I come here.

They’re very personable, and they calm you, and I have bad anxiety with dental work, and they soothed everything. Like, they’re very personable and easy to talk to, and they cover everything in detail. Due to my autoimmune and things that have happened in the past, they have been set apart because of the fact that I’ve been able to come in and get my major dental work done and not have the anxieties that I had before. So, I didn’t have to do the… I’ve always had to have nitrous. This is the first dental office that I’ve been relieved of that. They actually called me. I was able to take the anxiety medicine and be done, and I had a lot of mouth work done without any nitrous. I did the first visit. After the second one, done, so it’s been awesome.
Dr. D’Amico is very calm, caring, and he is one-on-one. He talks to you about everything. He’s very thorough. He goes through every step that he’s gonna do. He makes sure you’re okay. Through every procedure, he talks to you. He lets you know what’s going on every step that he’s going through and what he’s doing, so you’re never at once like, “Oh, what’s he doing inside my mouth?” Like, he lets you know exactly what’s going on.
Anytime I called, they were on top of it. I mean, I never had to wait or call back and say, “Oh, I had this work.” No. They were on top of it. When I came in, they checked me out to make sure I was okay. I never had to wait, and then when the finished product was in, I was extremely happy, so it’s been good.
Well, I mean, My Hometown Dentist is a family practice in the sense that they take care of my family. Like I said earlier, I mean, my husband works out of town. And so as soon as he comes into town, if he’s due to come in or he needs any services, all you gotta do is call, and they get him right in. When we have family emergencies with kids, they take care of us above and beyond. The quality. Quality is very important to me. You know, we keep our teeth for, hopefully, the remainder of our life. The quality of the treatment is excellent, and that’s important to me as a mom to know that, you know, they’re gonna be able to go on and not have to worry about, later, the treatment failing.
The accommodations. They’re gonna accommodate you. They have great hygienists. There’s not a hygienist here that I would not prefer. I prefer all of them, and whichever one we get, we’ve all been happy with the hygienist. They do educate on how to take care of the teeth, and when you have teenagers, you know, they need reinforcement from other people besides parents. So that’s important, and they’re good about educating, you know, your children, yourself, if that’s needed. I would just, you know, suggest that anyone go and meet with them, and you’re gonna fall in love with them.
So, I ended up getting bridges because I had the two root canals. Again, I did the fillings, didn’t have enough money to pay for the crowns. One on each side broke, so when we had to pull those out and extract those, of course, obviously, we had to do the bridge, the settings, and the new crowns, and that was the reason for getting the bridgework done.
You can say they put it down in layman’s terms, but they explained everything. “Okay, this is what this is. This will take care of this problem. This is what you can afford. This is what you can’t afford. You let us know.” They put it in your hands, but they all let you know. They let you know what can be done.
Everybody here is so friendly, and that’s what you want. You wanna not just feel like a patient, feel like the neighbor, and this place is pretty cool.
The environment was always friendly. You know, as soon as you come into the door, they greet you with smiles. The dentist we used to go to before was constantly switching dentists. You’re not sure who you’re getting in, whether it’s gonna be a good dentist or not. And then here, it’s always been consistent, so that’s what we like about it. They’re real friendly. There’s no pressure. They give you advice. You know, they talk you through it. I feel that the care given here is more personalized to each individual.
So, the doctor that I see is Dr. Granato, and she has the most amazing personality. She is so awesome, and nothing but it. She’s a walking smile basically, and her personality exhibits every bit of that. It’s just pure positivity through and through. I’ve never heard her say a single negative thing, and she’s just very happy person, very happy personality. And you can see it not just in her, but it pushes off onto the staff at the office. And all of them are so welcoming, and you can see it, it’s very much natural for all of them.
So, how I would describe the quality of care as far as when we started coming to this practice as a family is basically second to none. You know, if you have anything, any kind of major work done such as like a root canal, or crown, or anything like that, you do have Dr. Granato’s cell phone number, if there’s ever something serious that comes up, and yeah, they’re just very tentative to your needs.
At My Hometown Dentist, you can expect to feel welcome. You can expect to feel comfortable, you can expect to feel like you’re family, feel like they understand and respect what you have to say, what you’re dealing with, not just in your dental work, but in your personal life because they just like to, you know, talk to you about whatever it is you want to talk to them about. They really do make it easy to come into the office and feel comfortable.
I came with a half of a implant done and I needed an abutment, so I needed two kind of things. One, to finish off the implant so she sent me to Dr. Buckley. I came back and after that was done, it needed a week of healing. They were so professional, so competent, I had no problems at all. And just the fact that they know what they’re doing. They just handle it with ease, as if I have no problem. He had no problem dealing with a half-done job, no worries about, “Oh, we couldn’t handle that,” and they totally did, no question. That was what was the competence of it and the professionalism. Far and beyond in dealing with my prior dentist in oral surgery and getting all the information. So, yeah, I would say they go beyond.
My son was on a playground at elementary school. He was running with some girls chasing him and he wasn’t looking. And he rammed his head into a pole and chipped his permanent front tooth out that had just came down. So we brought him here and they bonded it. And ever since I bonded it, it’s been fantastic.
When my son came in here, he was in tears. He was super crying and he was so sad, very nervous because he thought it was going to hurt. I think anybody that goes to your dentist, they feel like it might hurt a little bit. They made him feel, Dr. Granada made him feel so comfortable. He got in the chair, she walked him through it, talked him through everything, made him super comfortable, told him a few funny things. And he would laugh just to, kind of, make him settle down a little bit. By the time he got out of here, he was so excited and so thrilled. He was like, “Mom, I don’t look weird anymore. I look good.” And so it was a very positive experience for us.
The quality of care that I’ve received here, I’d say, hands down is outstanding. The way they embrace you, make you feel comfortable even in that seat. Especially having a seven-year-old have such a traumatic experience with his tooth, they really made him feel good about himself, relaxed, not upset, and it was wonderful. For moms, it’s a blessing because of, you know, it’s hard to get your kid to come into the dentist. Outstanding here.
The biggest concern was the price point, because crowns are major work, they’re very expensive. And so, I discussed the price point and what the options were, and Dr. Granado was great in discussing what options were available, and working with me in regards to setting a timeframe where it would be financially possible to make it happen. The level of service that I experienced from the beginning to the end in regards to getting the crown, and from the beginning where I discovered I needed a crown was just very inviting. As with everything else, it was just very inviting. She made sure that I was taken care of all the way through it.
And, of course, after the crown, she personally called back twice to make sure everything felt right, everything was good, I was comfortable, there was no pain. And so, yeah, it was just awesome. As far as how it’s been after the crown has been put in, it feels like a natural tooth. Everything feels great. I forget that there’s even a crown there. It’s been absolutely awesome since then, and my bite is back to normal.
A friend of mine that I’ve known since the ’70s, he came to Hometown Dentist and said, “You have to come.” And we live close by, so that’s how I got to Hometown Dentist. The professionalism and the competence of the people, I’ve had the technician, the dental hygienist, and Dr. Gomez is so efficient. Tells me what’s gonna happen. Like, I came with half of a implant done. They were so professional, so competent. I had no problems at all. And just the fact that they know what they’re doing, and I’ve been to many dentists, and it’s so comfortable that I know what they’re doing.
I have three Cs that I want to have is comfort, convenience, and confidence, and they meet all of them. It’s just really fun that they remember my name. I remember my mother saying at a bank that, “Oh, they want my business, but they never remember my name.” So that hits a big chord in my life, and I appreciate that very much, and I feel appreciated by them.
