Dr. Victor Parra’s passion for dentistry began in 2001 when he started his career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. He later pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2014. Since 2016, he has proudly called San Antonio home.
Committed to providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Parra prioritizes a comfortable and positive dental experience. He believes that dental treatment should never be unpleasant and takes a gentle, honest, and transparent approach to help patients achieve their oral health goals.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Parra enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and exploring new local restaurants. Dr. Parra looks forward to caring for you and your family!
I enjoy going to Hometown Dentist because they are friendly and I feel that they care about me. They give me good advice for taking care of my teeth. My dental hygienist is excellent. She makes me feel comfortable and checks on me as she is doing the cleaning. The dentists are very knowledgeable and professional. It is easy to make appointments and they send timely reminders. There is very little wait time when I arrive. I highly recommend their practice.
First time in and all went well. Very professional and prompt. Dr. Parra was able to locate the issue. Unfortunately I had to be referred for a root canal.

Dr Try Nguyen was very kind and compassionate. He seems quite knowledgeable & I needed a new retainer made since wearing Dandy clear aligners last year & the retainer I got from a previous dentist at his office didn’t fit properly (thus the 4 stars & not 5) Theresa is always the best.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at my recent dental cleaning and cavity filling with Dr. Nguyen and Teresa. From start to finish, everything was handled with care and professionalism. Teresa was amazing—she made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and explained everything clearly, which really put me at ease. Dr. Nguyen did an incredible job with my cavity; it was quick, painless, and thorough. He also took the time to assess my gums and gave me an honest, straightforward evaluation, which I really appreciated. It’s clear he genuinely cares about his patients’ overall oral health. Alyssa at the front desk deserves a special shoutout too! She was super chill and so helpful with scheduling my appointments. Her warm, friendly demeanor made the whole process so smooth and stress-free. Overall, this team is outstanding. I made an appointment for pain and discomfort, within 15 minutes of the appointment the problem was identified and a plan of treatment was offered (wisdom tooth removal) within another 15 minuets, they started the procedure and not only was it painless, but quick! Maybe 10 minuets itself. I was home an hour after my appointment started. All questions and concerns (I’m 20 weeks pregnant) were answered and I wasn’t unsure about moving forward with the removal. I’m sure I’ll be back for future appointments.
I had been seeing Dr. Erin McLendon and Dental Hygienist Pam for over ten years and I highly recommended their dental practice. Both ladies and their entire team are professional, personable and approachable when I have questions about my teeth, oral hygiene and their services. She sold her practice to My Hometown Dentist in Hollywood Park. Both Dr. Erin and Pam are no longer available. My new dentist Dr. Tri Nguyen is very nice and highly competent. He discovered I had an infection and sent a referral to a Endodontics clinic. The last office visit visit did not go smoothly. D. Hygienist Rosalinda was very nice and professional but her dental tools were not working. The ultrasound wand and XR tool needed charging or repair. I sat in her chair for over an hour to get all the scans / cleanings finally working and completed. The visit was disappointing but I feel confident the next appointment in June will go smoother. Thanks to My Hometown Dentist for their professionalism in the face of diversity!
The My Hometown Dentist team is both efficient and kind. They know me and what my needs are and they are the only dentist office I wish to work with at this time.

Love that the DDS checked me before cleaning so he can really tell me if he sees I’m not cleaning enough! Montzi (so?) did great job and quickly – that’s the best part because my jaw gets tired of being open.

I actually love coming here! I’m usually not a fan of the dentist, like a lot of people. But since my first appt here, Montse (my hygienist) is seriously so sweet and personable and always goes above and beyond to make sure i’m comfortable. I also got the chance to meet Dr. Nguyen and he is professional and courteous and answered all my questions. Would definitely recommend this dentist office!

They don’t just go after fillings and such here. They mentioned I had a couple of spots that could be filled but that with fluoride and proper care would fill back in.

Erin and her whole staff are a delight to know, they are very caring as to your needs, and explains in full detail the treatments outlined, i had a cracked tooth that sadly will be will have to be removed. I am having full deep cleaning done and highly recommend her hygienist for doing a super thorough job on that part of my future procedures They are the very best i have experienced up to now, and would highly recommend to everyone…

My recent visit after the new ownership was no different than my experiences in the past 3 years of being a patient. I was relieved that I had the same hygienist, Mintsy. SOME NEW PEOPLE BUT HAPPY TO SEE DOC McCLENDON
I went in recently after losing part of a back tooth to pretzels of all things. Turned out I needed a crown. The procedure was well explained and taken care of. We have been going to Dr McLendon for years and have been happy with her. This visit I saw Dr Nguyen, her new associate and was happy to meet him.
The reigns have been passed from Dr. McLendon to Dr. Nguyen and he’s spectacular! The hygienist, Rosina, was extremely kind, gentle, and professional! It’s worth the drive into town to be treated like family!
